Free Informal Valuations
We offer free informal verbal valuations and sales advice on any item you are looking to sell. It helps if you can bring items in or send us images. Occasionally out-of-pocket expenses such as travel may be charged, but we can usually integrate visits across the country within our monthly diary.
Competitive professional fees are charged for all formal valuations including written valuations for insurance, probate and inheritance tax.
Much of our time is spent visiting clients at home or discussing items in the auction room. Even if you are not sure of an item’s value, we always prefer to take a look. There is no obligation to sell, should you change your mind. Our combined knowledge of the market adds up to some hundred years of experience. We want you to take advantage of our expertise. If you would like to arrange an appointment, please contact us.
The Valuation & Sale of Family Estates
We are experienced in dealing with the complete contents of homes and qualified to provide formal Certificates of Valuation for probate, family division or taxation purposes.
Many insurance companies demand that a professional valuation is made of valuable antiques, especially if you possess inherited items for which there is no formal receipt. A valuation can lead to cheaper insurance premiums, prevent you being penalised for under-insurance and potentially speed the settlement of your claim. Our room-by-room inventory and valuations can be accompanied by photographs, offering both peace of mind, and ‘proof of possession’.
Legal & Property Professionals
Our highly experienced Legal Liaison understands the precise requirements and complexities involved in executory and private client matters. Each assignment is allocated to a senior member of our team, ensuring close personal supervision, and a constant point of contact throughout all levels of the auction process.
